Happy belated New Year! I hope everyone had a pleasant and restful holiday season. I really enjoyed just being at home with Jason and the kids this Christmas. It's usually a chaotic, stressful time of year for me. But for some reason, unbeknownst to me; I was at peace, carefree, and had a great holiday.
New Year's was fun. We didn't do anything fancy. Just had some friends over for a BBQ. Had some Asti, while those kids who were still up had sparkling apple/cranberry. It was really laid back evening. Just before the turn of the new year, we adults went around the room - one by one - pondering and sharing with everyone else what 2004 meant to us. I'll expound on that notion in another post. ;)
Now, we are into the first full week of 2005. J (my hubby) is back at work, Hunter is back in school. Autumn never really changed her schedule much - the daycare doesn't have the 2 week winter break like the schools do. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with Hunter. Though after this past weekend I was a bit more than ready for all of us to be back to our regular routines. :) It took a couple days to get used to everyone being somewhere other than home during the day - but I've re-adjusted. I managed to get our home looking rather organized and clean - by New Years. It's been a handful of days and it still looks great! That is a feat for me! *lol* I've adopted some cleaning techniques - to help keep up the clean look and to help minimize the allergy issue. I'll delve further into the realm of housecleaning techniques in yet another post. I'm trying to build up my blog, you see, and I don't want to write about everything all in one post. ;)
Tomorrow, the only real thing on the agenda is to re-clean Autumn's room. It was kind of holiday central in there for a bit. Now we are re-claiming it. I've made a lot of progress in the last couple days. Tomorrow I want to convert the crib to a toddler bed. I think she is also ready for the change. She is headed for toilet training in the near future too - so I think this will be a good set up for that. But I do first need to finish up her room before working on the bed. So at least I've created an incentive to getting her room done. I really want to give her room more of a *little girl* look and feel, rather than a guestroom/nursery look. I have some fantastic ideas! I will be sure to take pictures. :)
At any rate, I will call it a night. It's nearing the 10 'o clock hour here on a Tuesday night. The kids are asleep and I would like some *me* time.
Good night!
Welcome to a whole new world!
