A Sad Time...

A sad time is upon our family. About 12 hours ago J's grandfather passed away, he was 87. A recent surgery for one thing, lead to the discovery of liver cancer shortly after. It was just his time to go.

The last time we saw Nanny & Grandpop, was a couple summers ago. During our bi-yearly home visit. We made a stop to see them for a couple of days. It was such a great visit.

Nanny is being strong, though I can imagine how much she hurts inside. She is surrounded by family that loves and cares for her, as she moves on with the funeral plans.

The wake and funeral are in a few days. J and I have agreed that he should go be with his family. I will stay here with the kids. Most of the family knows of J's intended trip, except Nanny. J wants to give her a nice surprise. :) Living so far away from everyone, this will indeed be a surprise to her. Shortly, we will leave to get J's flight tickets.
