Summer Break...

Well, I had some time off from blogging. Now it's time to get back to it. It's a tad bit late. I was working on some things on the computer before bed, and while it's quiet (since the kids are asleep).

Let's see now. Since the last blog post, many things have happened.

My mom and mother-in-law arrived shortly after Mother's Day. Soon after their arrival here we all left for a 5-day trip to China (Beijing). It was an awesome tour and climbing the Great Wall (with our 2 1/2 yr. old daughter on my back no less) was quite a feat and an amazing experience! I would go back just to climb The Wall again, maybe even camp out and spend the night on it once.

After China, we spent another week or so traversing around Seoul. Doing some things we've not done yet, since we moved here (6 1/2 years ago!), and wanted to do and other things we just hadn't had much of a chance to do. J also had his Master's graduation ceremony over Memorial weekend. It wasn't a huge ceremony but it was nice. I'm incredibly proud of my husband for such an accomplishment.

Post China, Seoul and graduation was the end of Hunter's 3rd grade school year. It was a really, really great year for him. I had a lot of fun too, helping in his classroom. Working with his teacher was great and since then we have become good friends. Since it was such fantastic school year and the kids & parents really adored her - I made a memory quilt as the class year-end gift. It came out nicely. I was quite impressed, I must say, for it being my first ever quilt. Not to mention, I did it within a week's time. That honestly shocked me. Here is the quilt...

Ms. Barker loved it too!

So the school year came to and end. Hunter soon after started 2 months of summer school. It was all pretty much math and art related. A lot of hands on activities. He's been enjoying it - math and art are his favorite and best subjects anyway. Summer school ends tomorrow though. Which will be nice. Then starting next week he'll have swim lessons for a couple weeks.

Autumn has been taking swimming lessons, pretty much all summer long. She is doing wonderfully! She is looking forward, so much, to starting Kindergarten this year. I have to admit, I'm a little anxious for her to start K too! She's been ready to start for about 2 years now. Not to mention it should be a little quieter in the house during the day with 2 at school and 1 at home with me. :)

Samantha is doing great. She's talking up a blue streak. Getting into everything. And she's still as happy-go-lucky as ever. The poor thing has been sick (feverish) a few times since summer arrived by brute force. I can't figure out if it's the daycare or the pool. So I guess I'll just assume it's both. I'll minimize the time she spends at the daycare and use those child ear plugs for her ears when she's at the pool. It looks like we will begin potty training very soon with her too. I look forward to the day we are diaper free - for good!

It's getting pretty late, so I'll end it here. I'll try to post again by this weekend. Much love to all (and you know who you are). :)
